Let the Christmas joy begin…

On Sunday 4th December members from Fulham Band kicked off the busy holiday season by entertaining passers-by with Christmas carols as part of the annual Belgravia Christmas Sunday! Elizabeth Street was transformed into a winter wonderland with an array of food, craft stalls and plenty of festive entertainment in the heart of Belgravia.

We played 2 individual slots full of traditional and modern carols and then ended the day accompanying St Peter’s Eaton Square Church Choir and the crowd with a few hearty favourite carols – Even Father Christmas joined us on stage for a good old sing-a-long!

This was the first of many of our extensive programme of Christmas Carol gigs – keep checking our ‘Upcoming events’ section to see where you can watch us play next…

Fulham Band lead religious Flash Talk

In the midst of the Indian Summer, Fulham Band made yet another TV appearance – but this time with a slightly controversial feel. We spent a hot October Saturday marching across the Millennium Bridge in central London playing ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’ copious times, whilst comedian Jon Holmes led the way before giving a short, light-hearted lecture on Faith Groups to a flash mob of nuns, humanist singers, passers by and of course the Fulham Brass Band.

He spoke about his concerns about the role religion plays in government and the event was part of the current affairs programme ‘Flash Talk’ which aired on Current TV in October.[nggallery id=48]
