Under guest conductor Alan Duguid’s steady and firm direction, the band played to a large crowd which grew bigger and bigger throughout the performance. Highlights included our soloists’ elegant interpretations of “Rev. Archie Beaton” (Michael Dawson, Euphonium), “Rusalka’s Song to the Moon” (Clare Jenneson, Cornet) and “All by Myself” (Mike Boyd, Tenor Horn).

Fulham plays at the Great British Beer Festival
A day of beer and banding! What could be better? On Saturday 6th August the Fulham Brass Band played to a very merry crowd at the Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court. Guest conducted by Alan Duguid, the band enjoyed playing a program of lively pieces including the march Barnard Castle and a medley of tunes from My Fair Lady.
Finishing with some traditional British favourites including Dam Busters, Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem, a fantastic day was had by all and the band look forward to next time!

Fulham return to Parsons Green
The Band have returned to Parsons Green (our former home) for the weekend in order to close the annual Parsons Green Fair.
Under the baton of Alan Duguid, the Band entertained the crowds with a selection of light music ranging from brass band classics to more contemporary theme tunes and followed a very pleasant afternoon of music with a few drinks at the White Horse (an old band favourite).

Brass on the Bridges & Garden Parties Galore
[singlepic id=758 w=320 h=240 float=left]Fulham attended the Royal Festival Hall on Friday night to appear in BBC Radio 3’s Brass on the Bridges feature, the grand opening to their Light Fantastic Festival. Fulham were one of four bands invited to record a specially commissioned fanfare by Anne Dudley which was broadcast on Radio 3 on Saturday 25th June (to listen click the link below) and coordinated by several members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Fulham Return to Whit Friday
Fulham Band have enjoyed another Whit Friday weekend in 2011! As last year, the band performed at the Whit Walks on Friday morning in Mossley, before taking part in seven contests around the Saddleworth area. Our Lady Gaga compilation went down splendidly in every village and other highlights from the weekend included a guest percussionist in Uppermill, a last minute dash (beer in hand / chips in bell) to the start line at Greenfields and a Born-Free-Challenge introduction to Ravenswood at Scouthead.
