Next stop.. The Areas!

It’s a new year and already Fulham Brass Band are full steam ahead with competitions! Our recent visit to the Butlins Mineworkers Championship in January, was a good start to the year, where we competed against 16 national bands from around the country. We played ‘Kenilworth’ by Sir Arthur Bliss and although did not get the placing we would have hoped for, the band played a good performance and enjoyed the weekend bonding session as per usual!

In 6 weeks time we will be heading back to Stevenage to compete at the London and Southern Counties Regional Brass Band Competition and we will be looking for a good result, to follow on from our successes in 2013. The Band will spend the next few weeks working hard on the piece with a mixture of sectionals and full-band rehearsals working on Chaucer’s Tunes for Brass Band by Michael Ball. The Band will also be preparing our summer programme so that we can look ahead to another year of exciting concerts and projects! Continue reading “Next stop.. The Areas!”
